2,250 km in one flight. Discover the new appeal of Japan
The magnificent nature of Hokkaido is appealing, but the subtropical air of Okinawa is also tempting – choosing a destination has always been a problem for travelers. The launch of the “Experience JAPAN Fare” has widely broadened the range of destination options.
If you take a direct flight between Sapporo (Hokkaido) and Naha (Okinawa), which is the longest route in the Japanese archipelago extending from the south to north, you can fly approximately 2,250 km for the price of one sector, allowing you to save a considerable amount of time and money.
As a sample itinerary, you can fly directly to Sapporo from Narita or Haneda on the first day and visit famous spots such as Odori Park, located in the center of Sapporo, or Sapporo Beer Garden, or you can travel a little further and visit Asahiyama Zoo, which is famous for its behavioral display where you can meet the penguins taking a walk.
The following day, you can fly to Okinawa using the Sapporo-Naha route (approx. 3 hours 15 minutes to 3 hours 50 minutes, one roundtrip flight daily). You can enjoy traditional culture at “Okinawa World,” where you can experience the culture of Okinawa, or Shuri Castle, which looks spectacular with its red exterior wall, and enjoy healthy Okinawa cuisine at night.
Depending on the season, you can experience the snowy landscape of Sapporo and see early cherry blossoms in Okinawa during the same visit. The “Experience JAPAN Fare” can be called an almighty ticket that enables you to encounter different appeals of Japan with just one flight.
From a city to intact unspoiled nature – “Ishigaki Island”
Ishigaki Island is a popular beach resort surrounded by an emerald green sea. The “Experience JAPAN Fare” has made the island more accessible. Nonstop flight service from Tokyo (Haneda) to New Ishigaki Airport, which opened in March 2013, has been launched (approx. 2 hour 50 minutes to 3 hours 15 minutes, one roundtrip flight daily). You can relax on Ishigaki Island, with its year-round balmy climate, enjoying marine sports or golfing, or exploring “Churashima” (which means “beautiful island” in the Okinawan dialect) as you wish. It is also recommended that you take a ferry from Ishigaki Island to Iriomote Island, which is blessed with unspoiled nature, and enjoy trekking or a cruise. Using the “Experience JAPAN Fare,” you can balance out your trip, by enjoying activities such as relaxing on a southern island after enjoying the allure of the city in Tokyo.
