Outlet mall

Tons of good buys in the mall that looks like a theme park

An outlet mall is a type of shopping mall where shops that sell samples; grade B products meaning products that are slightly damaged in production or in transit; or out of season products at a lower price than the regular price are assembled. The first outlet mall came into being in 1980’s in the United States. The first outlet mall in Japan called RiSM was opened in Saitama Prefecture in 1993. Since then, the number of outlet malls is growing and now there are more than 30 of them across the nation. A new mall has come into being in 2011 too.

The size is the largest in Asia! – Lake Town OUTLET

Lake Town OUTLET is an outlet mall that was newly opened on April 29 of this year in the complex where other two facilities are: Lake Town KAZE centered on clothing shops and restaurants and Lake Town MORI. What is appealing is not only the huge scale but also the location which is less than one hour from the center of Tokyo and a 7-minute walk from the nearest JR station Koshigaya Lake Town Station.
Lake Town OUTLET features ecologically friendly facilities and events that are held more than other outlet malls. What is popular among foreign tourists is a workshop in which visitors can experience painting on a saucer or learn how to wrap things with a furoshiki, a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth. The workshops are held by an Arita ware shop Kouransha. The fountain show held in summer at the lake and BMX Flatland which determines the King of Ground winner as well as the BMX Flatland World Circuit ranking held in Autumn were well received. As an event is held every week at the complex, it is fun to go with friends or family.
